The Pace Academy Knights's homestand continues as they prepare to take on the Hiram Hornets at 3:00 p.m. on January 15th. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both teams will really light up the scoreboard on Monday.
Last Saturday, in a tight match that could have gone either way, Pace Academy made off with a 61-60 win over Riverwood.
Lamar Moore continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 16 points along with seven rebounds and six assists. The team also got some help courtesy of MJ Madison, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Hiram had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Woodland as Hiram made off with a 71-48 victory. Given Hiram's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 97th, while Woodland is ranked 372nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Pace Academy pushed their record up to 13-2 with that victory, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.6 points per game. As for Hiram, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a massive bump to their 8-6 record this season.
