Edgewood saw some tournament action on Friday. They blew past the Mt. Vernon Wildcats 54-32. The Mustangs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matches by 22 points or more this season.

It was another big night for Allison Bland, who went 7 of 15 en route to 16 points along with six rebounds and six steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Macey Crider, who posted 12 points and seven rebounds.

Edgewood was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mt. Vernon only posted seven assists.

When it comes to explaining why Mt. Vernon lost, don't look at Hannah McNeece. Despite the final result, she went 5 of 10 on her way to 10 points. That's the most points McNeece has posted since back in November of 2023.

Edgewood's victory bumped their record up to 10-3. As for Mt. Vernon, they are on a 14-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-13.

Edgewood didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 38-28 defeat against Orleans on the 27th. As for Mt. Vernon, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 32-28 loss against Eastern Greene on the 27th.
