Newtown got themselves on the board against New Fairfield on Monday, but New Fairfield never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 9-0 margin over the Rebels. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Nighthawks also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Newtown's victory bumped their record up to 2-3. As for New Fairfield, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.

Newtown will be playing in front of their home fans against Shepaug Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for New Fairfield, they will head out to challenge Bethel at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Wildcats have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.33 runs per game on average), something the Rebels will no doubt try to take advantage of.
