Apex has gone  a perfect 4-0 against Broughton recently and they'll look to pad the win column further  on Friday. The Apex Cougars will host the Broughton Capitals  at 6:00  p.m.
On Wednesday, Apex didn't have quite enough to beat Lee County and fell  4-3.
Apex got a good showing from  KYLE HULSE, who   tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off   six  hits.
 At the plate,  JAY HALE was cooking despite his team's loss,   scoring a  run while going 1-for-3. Another player making a difference was  CROSBY HOLMES, who  scored a  run and  stole a base while  getting on base  in two of his three plate appearances.
Meanwhile,  after only two  runs in their last  game, Broughton made sure to put some  runs up on the board against Green Level  on Wednesday. Broughton put the hurt on Green Level with a sharp  13-4 win.
  Matthew Vannoy was  incredible,  scoring two  runs and  stealing four bases while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance gave  him a new career-high in  stolen bases. The team also got some help courtesy of  Garrett Waters, who  scored three  runs and  stole two bases while  getting on base  in three of his four plate appearances.
 Broughton pushed their record up to 1-1 with the  victory, which was their fourth straight  on the road dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs over those games. As for Apex, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.
 Apex skirted past Broughton  1-0 when the teams last played  back in February of 2024. Does  Apex have another victory up their sleeve, or will Broughton turn the tables on them?  We'll have the answer soon enough.
