Basketball Recap: Tuesday's Win Is Windsor's Seventh in Last Eight Outings

Windsor hadn't done well against Fossil Ridge recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Windsor Wizards walked away with a 64-57 win over the Fossil Ridge SaberCats. For the Wizards, this counts as revenge for the 60-49 victory the SaberCats walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2023.

Windsor's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Madden Smiley, who went 10 for 17 en route to 23 points and five rebounds. The contest was Smiley's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Brady Kingsley, who posted 15 points and five boards.

Windsor was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Fossil Ridge only racked up eight assists.

Fossil Ridge's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Drake Walker, who scored 21 points. Walker has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Donovan Banek was another key player, going 6 of 12 on his way to 14 points and seven rebounds.

Windsor has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season. As for Fossil Ridge, the defeat snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 7-6 record.

Windsor and Fossil Ridge should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Colorado Rankings. Windsor (ranked 39th) will meet Poudre (ranked 172nd) at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Windsor will be looking to keep their 13-game home win streak dating back to last season alive. Similarly, Fossil Ridge will challenge Greeley West at 7:30 p.m. on Friday up 273 places (29 vs. 302). Windsor is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 64.3 points per game this season.
