Minden is 0-9 against Lakeside since March of 2015 but things could change on Wednesday. The Crimson Tide will face off against the Warriors at 5:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
If Minden beats Lakeside with 12 runs on Wednesday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two matchups with that exact score. The Crimson Tide beat Summerfield on Monday by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 12-4. The Crimson Tide haven't had any issues with the Rebels recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Lindsay Ryan made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out 14 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off two hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than ten strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI she has posted over her last seven contests.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Leigha Kennon Gilbert, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. She is on a roll when it comes to hits, as she's now got three or more in each of the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Lizzie Balkom, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one double.
Minden was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .433. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Summerfield only posted a batting average of .111.
Meanwhile, Lakeside never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They blew past Mansfield 18-0. The Warriors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 14 games by six runs or more this season.
Raleah Harris and McKenna Chreene did most of the damage at the plate: Harris scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-2, while Chreene scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. Those stolen bases were Chreene's first of the season. Emily Jones was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-1.
The victory made it two in a row for Lakeside and bumps their season record up to 21-5. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 2 run in those games. As for Minden, their record is now 10-15-1.
Wednesday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Minden hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .332. However, it's not like Lakeside struggles in that department as they've averaged .368. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Minden came up short against Lakeside in their previous matchup back in February, falling 5-2. Can the Crimson Tide avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
