Eastern hasn't had much luck against Delphi Community recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Comets will take on the Oracles at 5:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Eastern barely beat Blue River Valley the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Comets never let the Vikings get on the board and left with a 12-0 victory on Saturday. The win was nothing new for the Comets as they're now sitting on eight straight.

Eastern got a massive performance out of Perry Kochensparger, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most RBI Kochensparger has posted over his last 11 matches. Bently Hullinger was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.
Eastern always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .607. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Blue River Valley only posted an OBP of .067.
Meanwhile, Delphi Community made easy work of North Newton on Monday and carried off a 16-4 victory. The win continues a trend for the Oracles in their matchups with the Spartans: they've now won five in a row.
Ryan Colella looked comfortable as he tossed four innings while giving up four earned runs off only two hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Brett Huffman was a standout: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. He has become a key player for Delphi Community: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least one home run, but 3-5 otherwise. Keigan Watts also deserves some recognition as he launched his first home run of the season.
Eastern pushed their record up to 12-2 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Delphi Community, their record is now 5-6.
Tuesday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Eastern has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .489. However, it's not like Delphi Community struggles in that department as they've averaged .441. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Eastern couldn't quite finish off Delphi Community in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 and fell 5-3. Can the Comets avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
