Waubonsie Valley dropped their record down to 7-6 on Saturday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They fell 5-0 to the West Aurora Blackhawks. The contest marked the first time this year in which the Warriors were not able to get on the board.

As for West Aurora, the victory was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average over those games.

For West Aurora's part, they got a great performance from Cooper Matheny as he didn't allow a single earned run over six innings pitched. Matheny has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Mason Atkins, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Eliseo Liscano was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
