Even though the Concord Christian Lions have not done well against Providence Academy recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. Concord Christian came out on top against the by a score of 52-40. The win was nothing new for Concord Christian as they're now sitting on four straight.
Providence Academy's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kinley Painter, who scored 12 points along with seven steals and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Aerin Hicks, who scored 12 points.
Concord Christian pushed their record up to 10-8 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.8 points per game. As for Providence Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 14-13.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Concord Christian and the will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 29th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Apostolic Christian comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Providence Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Lions at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. King's Academy presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the in Tennessee (the Lions are ranked 65th, while the are ranked 257th).
