The Indianapolis Shortridge Blue Devils fell victim to the Roncalli Royals''s stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They were dealt a 42-0 loss at the hands of the Royals. While losing is never fun, Indianapolis Shortridge can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana football rankings (they are ranked 230th, while Roncalli is ranked 46th).
James Edmondson threw for 41 yards on two of nine attempts. On the ground, James Lee rushed for 33 yards.
Henry Adams was the offensive standout of the game as he rushed for 82 yards and two touchdowns on only nine carries. Zach Dozier was in the mix too, providing Roncalli with two touchdowns.
Indianapolis Shortridge are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 10-0 Indianapolis Bishop Chatard and 8-2 Indianapolis Crispus Attucks (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 73.3% over those games). As for Roncalli, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-6.
Indianapolis Shortridge does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Roncalli will head out on the road to face off against Mooresville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
