Even though the Todd County Central Rebels scored an imposing 61 points on Friday, the Franklin-Simpson Wildcats still came out on top. Franklin-Simpson sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 64-61 victory over Todd County Central. For Franklin-Simpson, this counts as revenge for the 61-43 defeat Todd County Central walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2023.
Several Rebels players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jamison Glass, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 13 rebounds. The matchup was Glass' 13th in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Hayden Strader, who scored 15 points along with five assists.
Franklin-Simpson now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Todd County Central, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 7-6.
Franklin-Simpson will head out on the road to face off against Bowling Green at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Bowling Green presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Franklin-Simpson in Kentucky (Bowling Green is ranked ninth, while Franklin-Simpson is ranked 135th). As for Todd County Central, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Cumberland County at 7:00 p.m. Cumberland County knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past five matchups -- so hopefully Todd County Central likes a good challenge.
