Lancaster-Lebanon 3 recap Oct. 30, 2012
Garden Spot extended the longest winning streak in Lancaster-Lebanon 3 this week by beating Columbia, 44-14. The win marks ninth in a row for the the Spartans.
Donegal led the league in scoring this week after putting up 54 points on Northern Lebanon. Kris Trimby ran for 144 yards and caught one passes for four yards in the win.
Adam Haas was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 162 yards on 25 carries as Garden Spot lost to Hamburg. Mitch Martin also contributed to the rushing game with 69 yards on the ground.
Hunter Smith provided a threat through the air and on the ground as the Braves lost to the Hawks. He completed nine passes for 173 yards and also ran for 61 yards. Smith's favorite target this week was Farrell, who caught seven passes for 142 yards.
Darrell Hall made the biggest impact on defense this week as Pequea Valley fell to Hamburg. The senior grabbed one sack.
Matt Foltz put up the best numbers through the air as the Indians topped the Vikings. He finished with seven completions for 82 yards and one touchdown. Foltz's favorite target this week was Dylan Maxwell, who caught two passes for 37 yards.
Thanks to the talents of Foltz and Trimby Donegal has been able to do all sorts of things on offense. Foltz leads the league in passing with 1057 yards, while Trimby has rushed for 1119 yards this season. Eastern Lebanon County's Adam Shoemaker leads the league in receiving yards with 435 on 15 catches.
Maxwell of the Jeff Polites' team is only 48 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season. Maxwell has rushed for 952 yards on 100 carries so far this year.
A big matchup in Lancaster-Lebanon 3 this week will be when Evan Breisblatt's team takes on Matt Zamperini's team. The Braves are in fourth place, while the Spartans are in first place.
The Raiders made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 7,134 from 7,570. The advance stemmed from a 21-13 victory over the Dutchmen last week.
