The Jasper Bulldogs will be home for the holidays to greet the Center Roughriders at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Friday, Jasper was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 39-34 to Lumberton. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Jasper has scored all season.
Meanwhile, while it was all tied up 24-24 at halftime, Center was not quite Chapel Hill's equal in the second half on Tuesday. Center fell 73-61 to Chapel Hill. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Tim Johnson, who scored 18 points along with five rebounds and four steals. The matchup was his 12th in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Emonte (Cash) Cross, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and three blocks.
This is the second loss in a row for Jasper and nudges their season record down to 3-3. As for Center, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-6 record this season.
Jasper came up short against Center in their previous meeting back in February of 2022, falling 58-49. Will Jasper have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
