Lawrence County's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alivia Terry, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds and five assists. Another player making a difference was Ava Boyll, who scored 17 points.
Lawrence County's win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-13. As for Russellville, their loss dropped their record down to 8-10.
Lawrence County will be playing in front of their home fans against Mae Jemison at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Mae Jemison is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. Russellville won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Florence at 6:00 p.m. on January 13th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Alabama (Florence is ranked 145th, while Russellville is ranked 150th).
