Isaac Poe, Merino's leader in stolen bases on the season, led the team again on Saturday. Poe made a splash, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with four runs and two stolen bases. Considering he played a big game the last time he faced off against Caliche back in April of 2024, the result shouldn't come as too huge a shock. Poe has become a key player for Merino: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 4-5 otherwise.

Poe's strong effort led Merino over Caliche and he'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Rams are a perfect 9-0 against the Buffaloes going back to May of 2021, a lead they'll look to extend.
