Broughton is 0-7 against Middle Creek since March of 2015 but things could change on Friday. The Capitals will take on the Mustangs in a tournament on Friday. Broughton is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games.
Broughton took a 14-run loss the last time they faced off against Wake Forest, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Capitals sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-1 win over the Cougars on Thursday.

Broughton got a great performance from Sam Harris as he struck out nine batters over 5.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and not a single walk). Harris has been consistent : he hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Weston Rhem, who scored a run while going 3-for-4.
Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Middle Creek's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell just short of Wakefield by a score of 4-3.
Ryan Morris was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits (and only one walk).
At the plate, Middle Creek saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gabe Murray, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
Middle Creek's defeat dropped their record down to 9-4. As for Broughton, their victory bumped their record up to 9-5.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Broughton has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Middle Creek struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 4.7 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
