Far Northeast W suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Tuesday. They were beaten by Rangeview 76-13. While losing is never fun, Far Northeast W can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 283rd, while Rangeview is ranked 117th).
Meanwhile, Westminster's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fifth straight loss. They fell just short of Denver East by a score of 64-62. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Brooke Gomez put forth a good effort for the losing side as she dropped a double-double on 38 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Alicia Trujillo, who scored 11 points along with four steals.
Far Northeast W's defeat dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Westminster, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season.
Far Northeast W was dealt a bruising 73-15 loss at the hands of Westminster when the teams last played back in January of 2023. The game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Far Northeast W was down 47-10.
