The Sherman Wildcats couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 49-26 walloping at the hands of Clymer Central on Thursday. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Sherman in their matchups with Clymer Central: they've now lost three in a row.
Clymer Central had a senior duo take command as Kaden Beckerink scored 23 points along with seven rebounds and Jonathan Massing dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which Beckerink has scored at least 25% of Clymer Central's points.
Sherman's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Clymer Central, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-4.
Sherman will head out on the road to face off against Panama at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Panama and Sherman are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads. As for Clymer Central, they will be playing at home against Chautauqua Lake at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
