Mater Lakes Academy entered their tilt with Palm Beach Central on Saturday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They strolled past the Palm Beach Central Broncos with points to spare, taking the game 70-53. Given the Bears' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 57th, while the Broncos are ranked 302nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Mater Lakes Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Vanessa Vancott, who went 12 for 27 on her way to 31 points and five rebounds. That makes it seven consecutive games in which Vancott has scored at least a third of Mater Lakes Academy's points. Alessandra Wandembergh was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on 12 points and nine steals.

Several Broncos players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Triniti Crouse, who posted 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Izabelle Vilmont, who put up 12 points.

Mater Lakes Academy is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season. As for Palm Beach Central, their loss dropped their record down to 4-8.

Mater Lakes Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 63-59 defeat against Bishop O'Connell on the 30th. As for Palm Beach Central, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 50-48 loss against Santaluces on the 30th.
