Baseball Recap: Gananda Central Beats Red Creek for Their Fifth Straight Win

Gananda Central won against Red Jacket on Saturday with ten runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Monday. The Blue Panthers' pitchers stepped up to hand the Red Creek Rams a 10-0 shutout. The Blue Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matches by seven runs or more this season.

Brady Wadsworth and Will Schneemann made a splash no matter where they played. Throwing, Wadsworth pitched 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Schneemann struck out seven batters over 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). Wadsworth has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. At the plate, Wadsworth went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI, while Schneemann went 2-for-3 with two runs. That's the most runs Wadsworth has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, Gananda Central got a massive performance out of Anthony DAgostino, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run. That's the most doubles DAgostino has posted since back in April. Jackson Giancursio also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

The win was the fifth in a row for Gananda Central, bringing their record up to 12-3. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 8 runs. As for Red Creek, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-11 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Gananda Central will challenge rival Sodus at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Blue Panthers 2.9, the Spartans 1.2) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Red Creek is set to square off against their familiar foe East Rochester at 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
