Longwood put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against the Horizon Science Academy-Southwest Huskies by a score of 37-30. While the Panthers didn't have the best season last year (they finished 6-8), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Horizon Science Academy-Southwest lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Mariah Horne, who posted 11 points along with six assists and six boards. Horne also grabbed five steals, which is notable because Horizon Science Academy-Southwest is 2-1 when she posts at least five steals, but 1-3 otherwise. Octavia Evans was another key player, putting up nine points along with seven boards and three steals.

Longwood's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-0. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 11.8 points per game. As for Horizon Science Academy-Southwest, they now have a losing record at 3-4.
