Citrus Belt recap September 10, 2013
Redlands East Valley's Anthony Valverde rumbled for the longest rushing play in Citrus Belt this season in his game against Summit last week. Valverde ran for 60 yards on the play and finished with 136 on the day as his team defeated the SkyHawks.
Miller moved up to 605 from 643 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Rebels were able to make move up by losing to Etiwanda 35-14.
Mark Neilssien and Valverde gave Redlands East Valley a balanced attack in passing and rushing last week. Joseph Harman also contributed to the rushing game with 52 yards on the ground.
Neilssien and Valverde gave Kurt Bruich's team a balanced attack through the air and ground last week.
Neilssien threw for 177 yards and 3 touchdowns. He was 11-18 with 1 interceptions.
Erik Abrams was the best wideout in the league this week as Yucaipa beat Highland. Abrams tallied 7 receptions for 119 yards. Joey Lines helped Yucaipa's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 53 yards.
Neilssien put up the best numbers in passing as the Wildcats topped Summit. Neilssien's favorite target this week was CJ Harris, who caught 3 passes for 52 yards.
Valverde was the best running back in Citrus Belt this week.
Redlands East Valley took down Cesar Villalobos' team 50-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Neilssien ran for 29 yards in the win.
