Johnson has gone 9-1 against Valley recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Warriors will host the Vikings at 4:00 p.m. Johnson will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak.
Johnson barely beat Fairfield the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Warriors never let the Falcons get on the board and left with a 12-0 win on Monday. The Warriors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 games by seven runs or more this season.
Naomi Quiroz was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one double. That double was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Kianna Jackson, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Johnson always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .607. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Fairfield only posted an OBP of .062.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Valley, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 21-4 margin over Burbank on Monday. That looming 21-4 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Vikings yet this season.
Johnson's victory bumped their record up to 15-9. As for Valley, their win bumped their record up to 4-15.
Wednesday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Johnson has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .564. However, it's not like Valley struggles in that department as they've averaged .575. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
