The Griffith Institute Griffins are taking a road trip to face off against the Alden Bulldogs at 5:15 p.m. on Monday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Griffith Institute comes in on three and Alden on six.
Griffith Institute will bounce into Monday's game after beating Eden, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. The Griffins were the clear victors by a 10-4 margin over the Raiders on Friday. The Griffins might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matches by six runs or more this season.

Olivia Mesch spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on ten hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Grace Ricci, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Loghan Sticht also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Alden came out on top against Kennedy on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive nine-run seventh inning. The Bulldogs were the clear victors by an 11-3 margin over the Bears. The Bulldogs are also no stranger to big wins: their blowout was the fifth contest they've won by 6+ runs this season.
Brooklyn Jankowski and Lilly Bromstead did most of the damage at the plate: Jankowski got on base in three of her five plate appearances with three stolen bases, one run, and one double, while Bromstead went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one triple, and one run. Samantha Waiss was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.
Alden was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .433. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .433 or higher in three consecutive games.
Alden pushed their record up to 6-0 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.0 runs over those games. As for Griffith Institute, their record now sits at 5-1.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Griffith Institute has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5.5 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Alden struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.7 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Griffith Institute might still be hurting after the 17-8 defeat they got from Alden in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can the Griffins avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
