On Friday, the Lee County Yellow Jackets's game was all tied up 29-29 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They walked away with a 64-51 victory over Jordan-Matthews. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Lee County also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2023.
Leading Lee County to victory were Kamaree Butler and Nic Farrow. Butler scored 19 points along with two steals, while Farrow scored 21 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Farrow hasn't dropped below 15points for three straight games. Ronnie Hooker was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with seven rebounds and five blocks.
Despite the loss, Jordan-Matthews still got an impressive performance from Brennen Oldham, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 16 rebounds. Oldham has been hot recently, having posted two or more blocks the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Elijah Hughes, who scored eight points along with two steals.
Even though they lost, Jordan-Matthews smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lee County only pulled down three offensive rebounds.
Lee County's victory ended a ten-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-7. As for Jordan-Matthews, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 5-7.
Lee County will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against Pinecrest at 7:30 p.m. on January 10th. Pinecrest is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 57.2 points per game. As for Jordan-Matthews, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Seaforth at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in North Carolina (Seaforth is ranked 402nd, while Jordan-Matthews is ranked 384th).
