The Corner Canyon Chargers will square off against the Mountain Ridge Sentinels at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Corner Canyon is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.2 runs per game this season.
Corner Canyon is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Utah's top teams: Riverton, who was ranked tenth at the time (Corner Canyon was ranked 21st). The Chargers walked away with a 5-1 win over the Silverwolves on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Chargers.
Andrew Nice spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits and racked up six Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Krew Thorn, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Nathan Horstmann, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Mountain Ridge, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They skirted past Bingham 7-6. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Stockton Fowlks was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Grayson Riding, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Mountain Ridge pushed their record up to 15-7 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.7 runs over those games. As for Corner Canyon, their victory bumped their record up to 14-8.
Corner Canyon came out on top in a nail-biter against Mountain Ridge in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, sneaking past 10-8. Do the Chargers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Sentinels turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
