There's no place like home for The Thunderbird Titans, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road two weeks ago. Everything went their way against Buckeye on Friday as Thunderbird made off with a 49-28 victory. The result was nothing new for Thunderbird, who have now won five matchups by 20 points or more so far this season.
Elijah Little got back to being his usual excellent self, as he rushed for 222 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 8.9 yards per carry. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Woods, who rushed for 130 yards on only seven carries.
Loss or not, Buckeye got some senior leadership from Darius Haskin who picked up 148 receiving yards and two touchdowns and Ricardo Juarez who threw for 184 yards and two touchdowns.
Thunderbird's win was their third straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 6-2. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 35 points. As for Buckeye, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-3.
Thunderbird will head out on the road to face off against Northwest Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Northwest Christian has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 365 points over their last eight matchups. As for Buckeye, they will be playing in front of their home fans against St. Mary's at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
