Crofton is a perfect 5-0 against North County since May of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. Crofton will square off against North County. Crofton is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak dating back to last season.
Crofton fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Broadneck on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Bruins by a score of 2-1.
Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last game, North County made sure to put some runs up on the board against Old Mill on Wednesday. The Knights blew past the Patriots 15-1. With that win, the Knights brought their scoring average up to 6.7 runs per game.
Alexis Garrison was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Garrison was also stellar in the batter's box, going 4-for-5 with three runs, one triple, and one double. That double marked the first that she has hit this season.
In other batting news, North County let Reese Butler and Hailey Nelson run wild. Butler went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four runs, and three RBI, while Nelson went 3-for-4 with two triples, three RBI, and two runs. Those two runs gave Nelson a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Chloe Jones, who went 2-for-5 with two runs and two RBI.
North County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .605. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Old Mill only posted an OBP of .211.
North County's victory was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 3-3. As for Crofton, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.
Crofton skirted past North County 1-0 when the teams last played back in May of 2025. Does Crofton have another victory up their sleeve, or will North County turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
