Palmer might have lost, but man, Eric Cisneros was a machine: he rushed for 115 yards and one score on only 11 carries, and also threw for 161 yards and a pair of touchdowns. 91 of those passing yards were hauled in by AJ Cisneros, who also brought in two receiving touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Pottsboro came tearing into Friday's game with three straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Trojans 44-21. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Cardinals' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 323rd, while the Trojans are ranked 886th).
Pottsboro's win came from a few key players Palmer will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Carson Nix, who rushed for 93 yards on only seven carries. Another player making a difference was Zavier Brady, who picked up 88 receiving yards and one TD.
Having lost for the first time this season, Palmer fell to 5-1. As for Pottsboro, their win bumped their record up to an identical 5-1.
Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Palmer has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 296.2 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Pottsboro struggles in that department as they've been averaging 153.3 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Palmer took their victory against Pottsboro when the teams last played back in October of 2024 by a conclusive 55-34 score. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Brady, who picked up 136 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will the Bulldogs still be able to contain Brady? There's only one way to find out.
