Turner County can finally bid farewell to their six-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They blew past Atkinson County 36-15. The high flying offensive effort was a huge turnaround for Turner County's seven-point performance the matchup before.
Carlton Brannon was the offensive standout of the game as he threw for 305 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 10.9 yards per attempt. Kaleb Joiner also helped out as he racked up 114 receiving yards.
Meanwhile, it may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Portal ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 36-34 victory over Jenkins County. The victory was nothing new for Portal as they're now sitting on four straight.
Portal's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Elijah Coleman, who threw for 143 yards and four touchdowns while completing 82.4% of his passes. Samari Mcbride was in the mix as well, providing Portal with two touchdowns.
Turner County's victory bumped their record up to 3-7. As for Portal, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season.
