The Southview Christian Conquerors entered their tilt with the Scotland Christian Academy Saints with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. Southview Christian walked away with a 43-31 victory over Scotland Christian Academy on Thursday. For Southview Christian, this counts as revenge for the 46-40 defeat Scotland Christian Academy walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2023.
Several Saints players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Layla Nicolosi, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds and two steals. That was a full 54.8% of Scotland Christian Academy's points, marking the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Zoey Neff was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Southview Christian pushed their record up to 15-3 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.0 points per game. As for Scotland Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 9-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Southview Christian won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Rockwell Christian School at 5:00 p.m. on January 26th. Rockwell Christian School will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 430th, while Southview Christian is ranked 211th). Scotland Christian Academy won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Calvary Christian at 5:45 p.m. on January 26th. The two teams have allowed few points on average, (Calvary Christian: 26.5, Scotland Christian Academy: 27.7) so any points scored will be well earned.
