The Carey Panthers scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They walked away with a 67-54 victory over Raft River. That's another feather in the cap for Carey, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Preston Wood was his usual excellent self, dropping a triple-double on 32 points, 13 rebounds, and ten assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Owen Parke, who scored 16 points along with nine rebounds.
The victory got Carey back to even at 8-8. As for Raft River, their loss was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-13.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Carey will take on Wendell at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Wendell presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Carey in Idaho (Wendell is ranked 30th, while Carey is ranked 91st). As for Raft River, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Shoshone at 7:30 p.m. on January 26th. Shoshone comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 24 points in their last four games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
