Larimore extended the longest winning streak in A Region 2 this week by beating North Prairie co-op [Rolla/Rock Lake/Rolette/Wolford], 41-27. The win marks seventh in a row for the the Polar Bears.
Midway/Minto took down Hatton/Northwood 56-36 last week, the largest margin of any game. Nick Schmitz threw for three yards, ran for 199 yards and caught three passes for 43 yards in the win.
P J Peterson provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Larimore defeated the Cougars. He completed five passes for 40 yards and also ran for 268 yards. Peterson's favorite target this week was Connor Nygaard, who caught one pass for 18 yards.
Peterson made the biggest impact on defense this week as Paul Peterson's team bested North Prairie co-op [Rolla/Rock Lake/Rolette/Wolford]. The 6-foot-4 senior forced one fumble and grabbed 2.5 sacks.
Logan Vaudrin put up the best numbers through the air as the Mustangs beat the Thunder. He finished with three completions for 43 yards and two touchdowns.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Langdon/Munich takes on Harvey/Fessenden-Bowdon. As it stands, the Cardinals are in second, while the Hornets are in fifth.
Park River/Fordville-Lankin made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 11,331 from 11,854. The advance stemmed from a 20-14 victory over Harvey/Fessenden-Bowdon last week.
