Coatesville (Pa.) took an early lead against
Avon Grove (West Grove, Pa.) and held on for a 42-13 victory on Saturday.
The Red Raiders scored seven points in the first quarter. Coatesville scored on an
Isaiah Flamer touchdown run.
After taking the lead on an Flamer touchdown run in the first quarter, CHS was up 28-0 at the half.
The Red Raiders expanded their lead to 36 points entering the fourth quarter. Coatesville scored two times in the third, including once on a touchdown run by
Daquan Worley.
Jay Stocker stood out for CHS in the win. The junior wide receiver.
When the two teams played each other last season, the Red Raiders came away with a 29-6 victory.
The loss was the third in a row for the Red Devils. The win brought Coatesville's winning streak to four games.
Coatesville (4-0) will play a Ches-Mont - National game against Bishop Shanahan next week, while Avon Grove (1-3) will take on Downingtown West also in a Ches-Mont - National game.
