The Eldred Yellowjackets will face off against the Tri-Valley Bears at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Eldred is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.5 runs per game this season.
On Monday, Eldred made easy work of Liberty and carried off a 15-1 victory. The Yellowjackets haven't had any issues with the Indians recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.
Eldred got a massive performance out of Madison Gaeta, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Olivia Gonzalez was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and one double.
Meanwhile, Tri-Valley won against Beacon on Tuesday with five runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Friday. The Bears sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-3 victory over Chapel Field Christian.
Avery Carrier made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in 12 consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Caitlyn Monell, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Another player making a difference was Angelia Raykoff, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
Tri-Valley's win bumped their record up to 8-5. As for Eldred, their victory bumped their record up to 8-3.
Tri-Valley's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Eldred hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .329. It's a different story for Tri-Valley, though, as they've only averaged .254. Will they be able to contain Eldred's hitters?
Eldred got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in April against Tri-Valley by a conclusive 10-4 score. Do the Yellowjackets have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bears turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
