Rocky Mountain Lutheran can bid farewell to their eight-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They walked away with a 59-51 victory over the St. John Paul the Great Mountaineers. The Eagles' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Rocky Mountain Lutheran to victory, but perhaps none more so than Gavin Borchardt, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 14 boards. Borchardt has been hot, having posted nine or more rebounds the last eight times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Judah Sternhagen, who went 5 of 8 on his way to 13 points along with five boards and three steals.

Rocky Mountain Lutheran was working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Rocky Mountain Lutheran's win ended a 13-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-8. As for St. John Paul the Great, they now have a losing record at 1-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. It'll be a Battle of the Birds when the Rocky Mountain Lutheran Eagles challenge the Front Range Baptist Falcons at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for St. John Paul the Great, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on STEAD at 5:00 p.m. on February 5th.
