Colton is a perfect 9-0 against Rosalia since April of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Wildcats will challenge the Spartans at 3:00 p.m. Colton knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with ten runs or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Rosalia likes a good challenge.
Colton can't be too worried about heading out to take on Rosalia: they just beat Genesee at home, who had been dominant on their own field up to that point. The Wildcats were the clear victors by a 21-12 margin over the Bulldogs on Thursday. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matches by nine runs or more this season.

Kiya Soza made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up seven earned (and five unearned) runs off nine hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, firing off two home runs, five runs, and six RBI while going 5-for-6.
In other batting news, Colton let Lola Walsborn and Mere Bell run wild. Walsborn went a perfect 5-for-5 with four runs, three RBI, and one triple, while Bell went 4-for-6 with one home run, four runs, and three RBI. That triple marked the first that Walsborn has hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ella Nollmeyer, who got on base in three of her six plate appearances with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Colton kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 20 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Rosalia came up short against Sunnyside Christian on Tuesday, falling 19-8. The Spartans haven't had much luck with the Knights recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.
Colton's record is now 6-4. As for Rosalia, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-2.
Everything went Colton's way against Rosalia when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Colton made off with a 12-1 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
