Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for The Stanton Blue Devils, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They fell to Lake Weir 26-21.
Lake Weir was led to victory by Amiel Raymond and Jackson Quick. Raymond rushed for 138 yards and a touchdown while picking up 8.6 yards per carry, while Quick rushed for 127 yards and a touchdown. Raymond was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 51 yards.
Stanton's loss was their ninth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which bumped their record down to 2-7. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 12.0 points per game. As for Lake Weir, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-3.
Stanton does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Lake Weir also has no future games currently scheduled.
