The Arvada Bulldogs will venture away from home to face off against the Bennett Tigers at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Arvada will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
Arvada made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Englewood, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Bulldogs were the clear victors by an 8-1 margin over the Pirates on Thursday. Considering the Bulldogs have won five contests by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Cameron Henderson was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He struck out nine batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in May of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. He is becoming a predictor of Arvada's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is undefeated (and 2-3 when he doesn't).
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Isaac Martinez, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-3. Arvada is undefeated when Martinez posts two or more runs, but 2-3 otherwise. Angel Martinez also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Bennett challenged Elizabeth on Saturday. The Tigers took an 11-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cardinals.
Brody Hawes was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two triples, three RBI, and one run. Ben Mathis was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.
Bennett has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Arvada, they pushed their record up to 6-3 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Arvada has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Bennett struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.4 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Arvada might still be hurting after the 11-1 defeat they got from Bennett in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Bulldogs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
