Softball Recap: Wilmington Now 7-2 over Last Nine Games

Wilmington's game on Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They blew past the Reynolds Raiders 20-4. The Greyhounds might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by six runs or more this season.

Wilmington got a massive performance out of Skylar Leishman, who went 2-for-6 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave Leishman a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Avery Harlan, who got on base in four of her six plate appearances with three runs, one double, and one RBI.

Wilmington has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Reynolds, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-11.

Wilmington wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 7-4 defeat against Mercer on the 2nd. As for Reynolds, they have also already played their next game, a 12-0 loss against West Middlesex on the 1st.
