Tobyn Tannehill and Jarod Doporto provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Andrews. The connection was good for 81 yards, the longest such play in 3A Region I District 4 this season.
Big Spring moved up to 81 from 146 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Steers were able to make the jump by beating the Mustangs 51-14.
Greenwood's dynamic duo of Kam Williams and Call Carmichael proved tough for Lake View to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Williams threw for 289 yards and four touchdowns and Carmichael had 112 yards receiving. Brayden Moreland helped Greenwood's passing attack out by catching two balls for 81 yards.
Rickey Harcrow made the biggest impact on defense this week as the Rangerettes beat the Chiefs. The 6-foot-1 defensive end racked up two sacks.
D'Vincent Allison was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 225 yards on 33 carries as Snyder bested Lake View. Teammate Brandon Davis added to the ground attack by rushing for 167 yards.
Tannehill provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Big Spring beat Andrews. He completed 14 passes for 305 yards and three touchdowns and also ran for 128 yards. Tannehill's favorite target this week was Ty'Ral Menefield, who caught two passes for 90 yards.
6-foot-3 quarterback Williams of Shad Hanna's team is the league leader in passing yards this season with 920. He has also thrown 10 touchdowns. On the ground, the Tigers' Davis has rushed for 667 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Devin Roberson. The Big Spring star has 22 catches for 392 yards.
Wylie extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Brownwood, 38-14. The victory was the fourth in a row for the Bulldogs.
