Two dominant backs in Ian Pennock and Raul Gallegos are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Severance Silver Knights will be playing at home against the Northridge Grizzlies at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The pair have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses apiece.
Last Thursday, Severance came up short against Mountain View and fell 17-7.
The losing side was boosted by Pennock, who rushed for 85 yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Northridge was beaten by Resurrection Christian 42-14 on Friday. The last quarter was a mere formality, since the game's final score was reached by the end of the third quarter.
Despite the loss, Northridge had strong showings from Braden Asmus, who picked up 126 receiving yards and a touchdown, and Justin Thill, who rushed for 26 yards and a touchdown. Asmus' longest reception was for an incredible 80 yards.
Severance's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 2-7. As for Northridge, their loss dropped their record down to 5-4.
Severance came up short against Northridge in their previous matchup back in November of 2022, falling 27-19. Will Severance have more luck at home instead of on the road?
