After a string of three wins, Abington's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They and Mashpee were almost perfectly matched up, but they suffered an agonizing 20-21 loss. If Abington were hoping to take revenge for the 20-40 loss against Mashpee the last time the teams met, then they were left disappointed.
The defeat dropped Abington's record to 3-1. The victory bumped Mashpee's record up to 4-0.
Next week Abington take on Rockland at 7:00 PM. Those two teams out to turn their luck around after having lost tight contests in their previous games. Mashpee will be defending their home turf for the first time when they go up against Cohasset at 7:00 PM. Each of these teams will be battling to keep their four-game winning streak alive.
