Bridgeland is 6-1 against Cypress Lakes since November of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Bears will venture away from home to challenge the Spartans at 7:00 p.m. Bridgeland knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 31 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Cypress Lakes likes a good challenge.
On Saturday, Bridgeland earned a 38-28 victory over Waller. Given the Bears' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 101st, while the Bulldogs are ranked 297th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Bridgeland to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kash Schwab, who rushed for 154 yards and three TDs. Schwab's rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his seventh straight game with at least 102 rushing yards dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Tyler Begeal, who rushed for 57 yards and one score on only seven carries.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Bridgeland was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 211 rushing yards. They are a perfect 4-0 when they've run for more than 200 yards.
Meanwhile, Cypress Lakes came up short against Cypress Ranch on Saturday and fell 21-14. The matchup marked the Spartans' lowest-scoring game so far this season.
Bridgeland will have to contain Theodis Fields as he made an impact in Cypress Lakes' last game. He rushed for 118 yards and one touchdown on only 11 carries, and also picked up 33 receiving yards. Fields really tore up the turf during one magnificent 76-yard run.
Even if they lost, Cypress Lakes' defense still kept up the pressure with six sacks. Jai Foreman was especially locked on to Cypress Ranch's QB and sacked him twice.
Bridgeland has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 47.8 points over those games. As for Cypress Lakes, they now have a losing record of 3-4.
Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Bridgeland has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 209 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Cypress Lakes struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 171.4 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Everything came up roses for Bridgeland against Cypress Lakes in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 56-14 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bears since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
