After five games on the road, Winside is heading back home. They will take on the Osmond/Randolph Hawks at 7:45 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Winside focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 26 on January 5th.
Winside posted their closest victory yet this season on January 5th. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 37-35 win over Hartington-Newcastle.
Winside's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Gavin Schutt, who scored 13 points along with three steals. Another player making a difference was Caleb Offner, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds and six blocks.
Osmond/Randolph suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Friday. They were outmatched by Summerland [Clearwater/Ewing/Orchard] on the road and fell 60-16. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Osmond/Randolph has scored all season.
Winside's victory bumped their record up to 4-7. As for Osmond/Randolph, they bumped their record down to 3-9 with that defeat, which was their 12th straight on the road.
