The Apache Junction Prospectors's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their fifth straight loss. Their rough 50-28 defeat to Baboquivari might stick with them for a while. While losing is never fun, Apache Junction can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 317th, while Baboquivari is ranked 158th).
Despite the loss, Apache Junction saw an underclassman step up: Tucker Barks scored six points along with five rebounds.
Apache Junction's loss was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 1-5. As for Baboquivari, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-4.
Apache Junction has the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Benson at 7:00 p.m. on December 20th. Benson is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak. Baboquivari's road trip will continue as they head out to face Valley Union at 7:00 p.m. on December 20th.
