The University Bulldogs will head out on the road to square off against the Sterling Tigers at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. University is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games.
University stacked a 12th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Thursday. They were the clear victor by a 54-34 margin over Valley. Given University's advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 36th, while Valley is ranked 197th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Natalie Moore and Addison Harding were among the main playmakers for University as the former scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and the latter scored 14 points along with five assists and five rebounds. Harding hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Allizzey Madrigal, who scored five points along with seven steals.
Sterling won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Thursday. They were beaten by Resurrection Christian 64-34. Sterling has not had much luck with Resurrection Christian recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.
University's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-3. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.8 points per game. As for Sterling, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-12.
Everything came up roses for University against Sterling when the teams last played back in January as the squad secured a 54-22 victory. With University ahead 27-5 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
