Even though the Gunnison Valley Bulldogs scored an imposing 64 points on Friday, the Grand County Red Devils still came out on top. Grand County skirted past Gunnison Valley 67-64. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Grand County.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Grand County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Wyatt Toney, who scored 21 points. The game was Toney's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lane Berry, who scored 18 points along with nine rebounds.
Grand County's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-8. As for Gunnison Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-6.
Grand County will head out on the road to face off against North Sevier at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. North Sevier is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home. Gunnison Valley will take on San Juan at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Utah (San Juan is ranked 106th, while Gunnison Valley is ranked 103rd).
