The Iowa Colony Pioneers posted their biggest victory since December 28, 2023 on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Bay City 83-36 on the road. Given Iowa Colony's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 457th, while Bay City is ranked 1178th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Daylen Dalcour, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of BJ Gill, who scored 13 points along with eight assists and four steals.
Despite the loss, Bay City saw an underclassman step up: Javius Andrews scored 20 points along with five rebounds.
Iowa Colony is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a massive bump to their 15-14 record this season. As for Bay City, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-15.
Iowa Colony will look to defend their home court on Friday against La Marque at 7:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as La Marque comes in on four and Iowa Colony on three. As for Bay City, they will head out on the road to face off against Columbia at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Columbia is on a four-game streak of home losses, Bay City a 13-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change.
