The Spalding Jaguars came tearing into Tuesday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 30.7 points) and they left with even more momentum. They took down West Laurens 51-37. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Spalding also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.
They used a three-pronged attack on offense:
Aaliyah Myers,
Kayla Barrett, and
Kadin Johnson posted no points each.
West Laurens lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Tiara Johnson, who scored six points. Madelyn Ridgway was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with two steals.
Spalding has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season. As for West Laurens, their loss was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 7-10.
Spalding will take on Howard at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Howard has now lost ten straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 1. As for West Laurens, they will head out on the road to face off against Griffin at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Griffin focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Tuesday.
